The International Volunteer Exchange Program, a vocational and cultural exchange program that connects international young adults with host families and volunteer placements in Canada and U.S., is always looking for host families for IVEP participants. MCC Low German Mennonite Services works with Low German speaking Mennonite newcomers from Latin America. The program office located in Winkler is looking for a volunteer whose duties may include assisting the program coordinator with newcomer’s documentation and interpretation needs, assisting in a follow-up program for newcomers, assisting in developing and maintaining a garden project for newcomers, and data entry. Whether you're part of a school group, youth group, club, Bible Study group, women’s group, office group, or a family group, everyone is welcome at Material Resource Centres in Manitoba. The following are some examples of what an individual could be involved in as a volunteer:
- tie knots in blankets to hold the layers together
- Infant Care kit gowns are cut using an industrial cutting machine, and prepared for sewers who complete them in their homes.
- soap is sorted and packed for shipment overseas.
- miscellaneous jobs related to the kits depending on what has been donated that day or week.

Every November, Meat Canning takes place in Winkler. Volunteers are needed to cut and stir heated meat, fill cans, wash cans, apply labels and box the finished product. For more information, please contact Gord Letkeman by email or by phoning (204) 829-3005.

SALT (Serving and Learning Together) is a year-long cross-cultural service experience for Christian young adults from the United States and Canada. Applications are due in mid-February, with placements starting in August. Check regularly for upcoming SALT assignments.
Sam's Place is a used bookstore, cafe, and music venue located in the Elmwood neighbourhood in Winnipeg. Every day Sam's Place needs volunteers to take orders, serve coffee, greet customers, run the till, and wash dishes.
