Syria crisis

Thank you for helping MCC provide footwear to children living in a refugee camp in Jordan. To meet the growing needs of the prolonged Syrian conflict, MCC is appealing for additional funds to support more people for a longer period of time. MCC has raised over $1.32 million so far with Manitoba contributing $234,800. MCC announced a new target of $1.5 million earlier this spring.

Quilt Show

Participate in the Quilt show & Sale in support of MCC’s Compassionate Ministries project in Zambia which helps communities deal with HIV and AIDS and gender based violence. The show runs Friday, May 24 10 am - 6 pm; Saturday, May 25 10 am - 4 pm; and Sunday, May 26 12 pm - 4 pm. Quilt show admission is $3. Registration for quilts is still open until May 17. Plant Sale

Is gardening on your mind? On May 25 from 9:00-4:00, a plant sale will be held in conjunction with the Quilt Show - everything from bedding plants to flowers, vegetables, herbs, perennial, and landscaping plants. Plant donations and volunteers are appreciated by contacting Ron Dueck at 204-896-5057 or by emailing ronwendy@mymts.net.

Families Walking for Families

Participate in Global Family's Families Walking for Families Walkathon to support education for the Ik children of Uganda on Saturday, May 25 from 8:00am to noon starting at 134 Plaza Drive to and throughout St. Vital Park. Your support will fund school supplies for children: food, clothing, soap, pens and pencils, sleeping mats and uniforms or shoes as needed.

MCC Manitoba AGM

From 7:00-9:30pm on Friday, June 14 at Niverville Community Church, volunteer to be a delegate in your church or simply attend MCC Manitoba's Annual General Meeting, as everyone is welcome. The evening will feature MCC Manitoba business as well as reports from MCC Canada and international programs.
